Capacity Tested, A Grade Cells. This is a well designed UK manufactured product with strict quality control. We either use LG or SK Innovation cells with this product line.

The LG cells we use are the same cells as in the LG Resu (Residential product line) and also ESS (commercial product line). Both the LG Resu and ESS utilises 14s3p which is the same as our product line. SK innovation are LGs leading competitor with just as outstanding cell quality. SK innovation manufacture cells for Ford, Volkswagen & Hyundai electric vehicles. 9kWh Battery designed for energy storage applications such as solar, wind turbine or charging directly from the grid (When used in combination with a hybrid inverter). This listing is for: 1 unit: 9kWh battery in enclosure. It also works with over 50 different inverter brands in standalone BMS function. We can also make arrangements for a 150a rated BMS at slightly extra cost. We tested a great deal of battery management systems before settling on a outstanding product we highly recommend. If a BMS is not added when ordering there will be no front panel nor BMS and the connection to the positive and negative terminals will be directly on the cells. The main feature we liked about this BMS is that it has 9 different protective features that our electronics engineer rigorously tested. We also liked the fact this BMS is widely used in numerous branded products throughout the industury.

If opting for a battery with BMS, we fuse all 14 cell connections which is typically only provided on quality designed and manufactured systems. We have seen a great deal of systems in the industry where the manufacturers do not fuse the individual cell connections, fusing all BMS cell connections is very important. The BMS has RS485 as well as CANbus communication protocol and standalone function. Up to 16 batteries can be paralleled (connected together on one system). You can also link each BMS together so they will comunicate with each other when paralleled. This is not really an essential requirement to link the batteries with our product as we use A grade high-quality cells so the cells will charge and discharge in balance nevertheless. Typically it is only an important requirement when using lower quality cells as lower quality cells can go out of balance. Setup is very easy indeed if opting for a battery with BMS simply connect your positive and negative connectors from your inverter to the battery. (please ensure you connect the polarity +/- correctly) Then connect your CANbus / RS485 cable (RJ45 / Ethernet cable). Your inverter will then automatically program its settings to work in conjunction with our battery.

The BMS also has an option to run standalone mode if you prefer, in standalone mode the BMS will work independently from the inverter. Due to having this function it means it can work with most the inverter brands out there. There are two options for this product line 48v nominal 8.4kWh or 9kwh which is 51v nominal.

The battery on this listing is 51v nominal, which operates better than a 48v nominal battery for most 48v inverters due to the typical battery input voltage range for 48v inverters. We also have a 48v nominal, 8.4kWh option on our other listings if preferred. We are happy to perform calculations in order to recommend an inverter to suit your needs. Either LG or SK Innovation cells are used in this product line. Both LG and SK Innovation are South Korean companies and major players in the electric vehicle battery sector. LG manufacture cells for leading EV manufacturers Ford, Chrysler, Audi, Renault, Jaguar, Porsche & Volkswagen.

The reason we mention SK innovation and LGs involvement in the automotive industury is due to the fact that EV manufacturers are known to prioritise the use of high-quality, A grade cells. High-quality A grade cells contribute to better overall performance, lower failure rate and higher energy density, enabling vehicles to travel longer distances on a single charge. Electric vehicle cells also often have to withstand harsher environments as well as faster charging capabilities. Quality A grade cells tend to have better durability, good cycling performance and a longer lifespan. They can often support faster charging rates without compromising on battery health. This is critical for addressing the need for convenient and quick charging, making them more practical for everyday use. Batteries for electric vehicles have to comply with strict standards and undergo rigorous testing. Using high-quality cells that meet or exceed these standards helps manufacturers ensure compliance with regulations in different markets. EV manufacturers tend to incorporate the latest technological advancements in cell technology. They often stay at the forefront of technological innovation to offer state-of-the-art electric vehicles this is in order to meet or exceed consumer expectations.

For this product it is highly unlikely you will experience a cell failure due to the High-quality A grade cells we use and not to mention the protective features on the battery management system. But if in the unlikely event you do, we have configured the cells so it is easy to replace a cell group. Once the failed cell has been identified it is simply a case of unbolting the bus bar for that failed cell and popping in the replacement.

For the majority of batteries in the industry companies have made if very difficult to replace a cell within a module. Most products are all welded together as larger groups, which doesn't make it viable to perform a repair as every cell is typically welded.

When cells are welded in groups a proportion of the cells would need to be removed in order to have access to that cell that needs replaced. This could be in the worst case in the centre of the module. Therefore every cell in front of this cell would need to be removed and each cell re welded which is a very difficult task indeed and virtually impossible to do without damaging the cell tabs.

Our guarantee will not cover misuse of the product. Please note this product should not be exposed to the elements, the individual cells are sealed however the terminals will corrode over time if exposed to the elements, for example in a wet/damp environment. When purchasing multiple batteries alongside our BMS they should only be paralleled.

They cannot be setup in series. Please ensure when setting up the battery the correct polarity Positive +/- Negative connectors are connected to the battery. Please ensure you do read our manual prior to setting up the batteries.

Setup is very easy indeed as mentioned previously. Cell compression: We have designed this product with outstanding cell compression. Cell compression is important to ensure optimal longevity of the cells, when cells are not compressed adequately the cells start to deform.

Certain brands such as Pylontech have minimal cell compression which causes a reduction in cycles and eventually premature failure. Pylontech battery boxes are made from 1mm steel enclosures with no end plates to compress the cells. This is most likely why Pylontech are known for having a significantly high failure rate typically after 5 year usage.

Typically use between 3 to 20mm end plates along with strong framework that prevents the plates from deforming when the cells start to expand during charge. We have integrated 24mm end plates to provide more than adequate cell compression with our product line. We can also provide teardown videos for the LG Resu, Growatt, Dyness B51100 and numerous EV modules for a clearer documented explanation. In the videos we explain the key differences between the quality of the products.

Please note: All cells we use have been cycled and we capacity test every set so you know the remaining capacity. Capacity test results have typically been between 170ah and 180ah. The majority have been in the 175ah region, the lowest we have seen so far has been 170ah. We can provide up to 8 units if you require units that are perfectly balanced.
